Hello, I'm Melissa Bowden-Williams, the tutor behind MBW Tuition. I’m a qualified primary school teacher and a parent of three children, so I understand both the classroom and real-life pressures families face. I’ve taught in schools and worked with many different children, each with their own learning styles and needs.

I believe that with the right support, every child can flourish. My sessions are designed to build confidence, fill in gaps, and help children feel proud of their progress. I offer a calm, friendly space where children can feel safe to ask questions and grow at their own pace.
My Story
I began my career in a very different world! After gaining a law degree, I trained as a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser, working in corporate tax for a major accountancy firm before moving into the oil and gas industry. Life took a turn when I became a parent to twins, and my focus shifted from corporate life to children and education, where I found my true passion.

Motivated by my growing interest in teaching and supporting children, and once my third child was at junior school, I took the plunge and returned to university to complete a PGCE. I absolutely loved it and I completed my training in an OFSTED outstanding local Warwickshire primary school, where I still occasionally teach as a supply teacher.

In 2024, I launched MBW Tuition with a simple goal: to provide personalised, high-quality support that helps children thrive. As a parent of three, I understand how busy and pressured life can be. Sometimes children need a little extra help – and parents can feel unsure where to turn. That’s where I come in. I offer friendly, focused support in a calm and productive environment, helping children feel secure, capable and motivated.
